Hello, I’m Helen! Welcome to Helen Westwood Maths – supporting students from Maths-confused to Maths-confident!
I am an experienced, enthusiastic and encouraging teacher and private tutor (with 20 years of classroom experience & a full Enhanced DBS certificate) working with home-educated and school-educated students around Northampton, Milton Keynes and beyond, for online Maths sessions, via Zoom (including Cambridge and Windsor where I was previously based).
I use an online, interactive whiteboard and document visualiser camera that means I can work collaboratively with my students on all areas of Maths as if we were sitting next to one another.
Sessions are provided online, on a one to one or small group basis, tailored to the individual needs of my students. During my teaching career, I have developed experience of working with both home-educated and school-educated students, including those with additional learning needs. I am also trained in High Performance Learning (HPL) through my work in a school focused on HPL for all students.
Sessions can be delivered to develop numerical understanding and fluency, to boost confidence and to support preparation for school assessments and GCSE exams.
I also have experience of teaching Functional Maths and Maths at Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3 to give students the best possible start and support with their mathematical knowledge and understanding. Thank you for visiting my website!
